ImageStream’s R1 Express™ router is designed for outdoor enclosures and other extended temperature applications that require an operating temperature range from –20° to 70° C. The R1 Express is also ruggedized with soldered memory for superior performance in high shock and high vibration environments.  The R1 Express provides one x1 PCI Express and one PCI slot in a fanless steel chassis,  high-speed memory, dual 10/100/1000 ethernet ports, and flash storage.

The system is also available with two PCI slots as the R1P-1000. With add-on network cards, the R1 Express can route multiple IP network connections including ethernet, fractional or full T1/E1, basic rate ISDN (BRI), and 56K dial-up. It also supports ImageStream voice cards with FXO/FXS, T1/E1 PRI, or BRI interfaces. The R1 Express leverages ImageStream’s Inetics™ platform, which includes modular driver support for WAN protocols including PPP, Cisco HDLC, frame relay and ATM. Inetics technology also supports realtime port status and performance monitoring, which simplifies troubleshooting for LAN and WAN connections.

The R1 Express provides a wide range of software features including IPv6, stateful inspection firewall, interface bonder, bridging, advanced QoS, VPN, dynamic routing, peer-to-peer traffic control, lawful intercept, VoIP gateway, and more. These features make the R1 Express an excellent choice for a wide range of service provider, transportation, and military applications. The R1 Express is ideal for remote POPs, railroad systems, and other applications where equipment must withstand extended temperatures, shock and continuous vibration.

The R1 Express can replace Cisco 1800, 1900, 2800 and 2900 routers, and it makes a great router for VPN and QoS deployments that require high performance.
