The new TransPort™ is ImageStream's low-cost high-performance cloud services router for the business premise. As an Eco Series™ router, the TransPort only draws 15 watts of nominal power, saving operating costs while being kind to the environment.

The TransPort provides a 1.6 GHz dual core processor, 1 GB memory, four 10/100/1000 ethernet ports, and one expansion slot. The expansion slot can be used for optional data and voice cards with up to four ports including ethernet, synchronous serial, T1/E1, ADSL1/2/2+, FXO/FXS, basic rate ISDN (BRI), primary rate ISDN (PRI) and 56 K dial-up.

The TransPort offers key features including VoIP gateway and SoftPBX, IPv6, stateful inspection firewall, advanced QoS with peer-to-peer traffic control, VPN, dynamic routing, line bonding, Web caching, and more.

The TransPort runs on ImageStream Linux™ and the Inetics™ platform, which include a tightly integrated Linux kernel, management software, and the Inetics Driver Component Architecture (IDCA). IDCA supports WAN protocols including PPP, Cisco HDLC, frame relay, and SoftCell™ ATM and IMA. Inetics technology also supports realtime port status and performance monitoring, which simplifies troubleshooting for network connections.

The TransPort is designed for use in branch offices and other small-scale premise routing applications. It offers wire-speed performance and unwavering reliability in a small but durable chassis. The TransPort can replace Cisco 1800 and 2800 series routers, and it provides a low-cost solution for virtual private network (VPN), IP-PBX, and quality of service (QoS) applications where wirespeed performance is required.
